About
An old salon, for now
Paris had rooms where painters, players and writers came together, showed each other their work and fell a little in love. Phyrne is that room, for creative people today.
Why it exists
You should meet people through what they make
Dating apps show you a face and ask you to decide. Feeds show you work and nobody behind it. Neither lets you meet the painter by her painting, or the cellist after the second set.
So we built a club where your work is how people meet you. The front of your card shows who you are and what you make; the back says what you are looking for — a date, a guitarist, a swap, a friend who goes to openings.

What it is not
Three things we have decided against
Not a swipe
No deck, no score. You look at a person's work first, and turn their card over second.
Not a feed
Nothing here rewards posting. Your work sits on your stage, and the salon has shows and a call board, not an endless scroll.
Not an ad business
We sell nothing about you to anybody. Memberships are the business, written down on one page.
Where we are
Five cities to start, then wherever the members are
Members are paid in sixteen countries from day one: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland and twelve more across Europe. Gatherings need a room and a host, so those started where we could walk in the door ourselves.
Savannah
Painters, printmakers, and a college's worth of people who stayed.
Charleston
Photographers, filmmakers, and the first supper we ever hosted.
Atlanta
Music, film and the busiest call board in the club.
Brooklyn
Bands, illustrators, and where the phrase "a guitarist, Thursdays" came from.
Austin
Players, producers, and more members with two crafts than anywhere else.
Everywhere else
Ask to come in from any city. A gathering happens when there are enough of you to fill a room.
Write to us
A small team who answer their own inbox
Come in and look around
Tell us what you make and what you came for. A person reads it, and we answer either way.
