Slow paintings of the marsh, the sea wall and the weather

-
Oil painter, working from a shared studio in Church Hill. I work in oil on linen, grind a few of my own colours, and keep a palette of nine that I rarely leave. I taught drawing to adults on Tuesday nights for nine years and still run into former students at openings. I go to every show opening in the club that I can reach by bike.

I paint what is in front of me: fruit on a plate, the back yard in rain, the harbour from the same bench most mornings. The small works are painted in one sitting. The large ones take a season.
